Static Coiler Dead Block Machines
static coiler dead block machines
General description
Static coiler deadblock machines are used to produce steel wire rolls to be used in the industrial or agricultural sector for the production of smooth wire, galvanized wire, bright wire, barbed wire, bailing wire, barrier strand, fencings wire, spring wire, nails and tying wire.
Static coiler deadblock machines manufactured by Promostar are single unit able to wind the steel wire after the drawing or the cold rolling process on fixed or rotating spider reels of different weight capacity.
The static coiler deadblock is our machine dedicated to the cold drawing wire lines.
It is composed of a sturdy welded steel structure with horizontal forming head designed to collect drawn wire on vertical stems (spider reels). The structure, which is totally closed for noise and safety aspects, is designed to contain all the mechanical transmission as well as the main motor.
The forming head is composed of a double capstan mounted on bearings positioned on a hollow shaft.

The winding of the wire on the forming head is obtained by a rotating arm which is fixed onto the hollow forming head shaft through which passes the wire. On this rotating device, which revolves around the circumference, is mounted a wire straightening unit which has rolls on two orthogonal planes (vertical and horizontal) and three wire deflecting rolls.
The arm speed is continually varied to operate according to the speed of the wire as it exits from the multipass line.
The transmission from the main motor (A.C.) to the rotating arm is obtained by V-belts and balanced pulleys. On the forming head shaft is also positioned an electro pneumatic disk brake. The braking, both in an emergency or in normal deceleration conditions, is obtained by controlled regenerative type braking.
Furthermore, all the parts in contact with the wire have a hardened working surface while the forming head, on which is collected the wire, is water cooled by a cooling system.
An elongated tubular wire guide, bolted to the forming head, permits the movement of the wire towards the stem. A lifting device, controlled by a pneumatic cylinder, permits the raising of this guide in order to facilitate the changing of the wire collecting stem (spider reels) when this is full. This guide also acts as a wire accumulating area to hold the wire as the full stem (spider reel) is removed and an empty one placed in the wire collection unit position.
On the dead block is installed a control pulpit with all the commands and warning lights necessary for the proper functioning of the coiler the same as on multipass lines.
Can be configured with different devices upon the request of the customers like an additional reduction pass (also called skin-pass), a rotating spider platform or a multi position spider platform.
Our static coiler deadblock machine are parts of our wire drawing lines but can be also integrated in any kind of existing lines.
