General description
The Automatic strapping, labelling and weighing system for coils is used to obtain automatically strapped coils on the automatic spooler, by means of a pneumatic strapping head, weighing cells loads and printing device.
The Automatic strapping labelling and weighing system for coils is performed after the spooling stage directly on the rotating platform of the spooler (or as an alternative, on a dedicated station nearby): once the collapsible spool has been lifted and properly orientated by the tail-stock, the strapping machine approach and insert the metallic strap every 90 degrees, take-up any slack in the strap and crimp the straps together.
The number of straps present in each position is totally programmable (double strapping is allowed)
The strapping machine is a fully automatic machine that include a high capacity strap dispenser in order to minimize the frequency of loading of strapping material improving the performance of the whole cold rolling or stretching line.

The strapping machine is a fully automatic machine that include a high capacity strap dispenser in order to minimize the frequency of loading of strapping material improving the performance of the whole cold rolling or stretching line.
The automatic insertion of labels in special plastic material, is made by positioning these labels within the strapping machine while the labelling device is equipped with a printing unit which prints the label with the specific data for each coil. The label is fixed integrally to the coil through the strap on which is tied through the appropriate slots. If required, it is possible to print and also to insert multiple copies of the same label for each coil, up to a maximum of 4 copies.
The printing unit of the label is completely programmable in order to print all the necessary information (logo, the number of casting, the quality of steel, the wire diameter, the coil weight, the date, the serial number, a bar code, etc.).
The weighing of coils is performed on the rotating tailstock of the spooler where some load cells detect automatically the real weight and provide the generation of a signal sent to the Printer and to the PLC for the further storage of the weight on the production data files.
This system is already foreseen for certifying by a certification authority.
